I never seen a GFI test button inside of a panel. The picture in the slide the yellow looking button is just pushed? Then it trips the breaker?

Yep – If you look in lots of breaker panels, you will eventually encounter breakers that have a test button. These are usually GFI (or GFCI, same thing) or they are AFI (AFCI) breakers.



The buttons in this photo are indeed test buttons that you should check, but you should first assure that you will not be turning off somebody's computer, or oxygen, or something else that you will regret turning off.

GFI = Ground Fault Interrupter – AFCI = Arc Fault Circuit Interrupter

When we have a GFI in the breaker panel, it may control more than one outlet. To be fully compliant with local code in most places, the outlets should have a little label that says they are GFI protected.
