GFI plug holes are blocked by paint?

How do you handle a GFIC outlet that works when tested, but the plug holes are blocked by paint?

If you can test it using the test buttons, but you cannot plug anything into it, you would ignore this. That will probably change when REAC changes over to the new NSPIRE protocol but that may be two years from now.
