Are we looking at the ventilation slope requirements on furnaces and hot water tanks? Because those can lead to carbon monoxide draft issues.

We are not measuring slopes, but if we see that a flue has a negative slope we can certainly cite that. Absolutely. But we are not splitting any hairs on this. If it looks at all close to being unsafe, we write that up without hesitation because that can really kill somebody. Err on the side of caution on something like this.
