With regards to doors is paint the only acceptable door finish?

We expect every door to have a weather resistant finish, which could be paint, varnish, powder coating, and I guess even anodization although I don’t recall ever having seen an anodized door. If we see that a door has just primer, we call that Damaged Surface L3, even if there is no damage, per se. (No holes, cracks, rust)
